The improvised live-streamed “performance” started in a cabaret club, The Box. Law went on stage and guests, including director Tom Hopper and singer Laura Mvula, were told that for the next 45 minutes they and remote viewers around the world would be able to give him instructions.
He then went around London collecting a cast of artists — spoken word poet Sabrina Mahfouz, composer James Gardiner-Bateman and street artist Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada — before returning to the club to give a live performance with them. On the way, viewers directed him on what to do next. The live stream was hosted by British filmmaker, comedian and writer, Danny Wallace.
The piece was part of Lexus’s “The Life RX” campaign for the Lexus RX, starring Law. It was engineered by PR agency Freud Communications.
Law said in a statement: “You don’t often get the opportunity to be part of something that allows you to be spontaneous and create a story from scratch.”
